Happy birthday to me, happy birthday to me, help me celebrate this Friday by getting something FREE!!
This is a rather special month for me, not only will I be celebrating my birthday on September 23rd, but my Open Pelisse and Regency dress pattern is being featured in an article in Piecework magazine. In anticipation of the magazine’s release, I decided to take some time to spruce the pattern up a bit and the new version is set to be re-released this Friday. The new version includes clearer instructions, color illustrations, and newly rendered pattern pieces with more placement markings and seam lines. As a kind of reverse birthday gift, I have decided to offer the newly revised Pelisse and Regency dress pattern in this weeks Freebie Friday at Pixie Faire. Be sure to download your copy and then enjoy a piece of yellow cake with chocolate frosting!

I put my Etsy shop on vacation last month after my Mother-in-Law passed away. Now that life is starting to settle into a new normal, I am ready to open it back up again. However, I will be my reducing inventory so I can focus more on writing and design. That being said, I have a lot of inventory I want to clear out of my studio… velvet ribbon, venice lace, ric rac, fabric, buckles, and a number of sundry items. Starting on September 20th, all my inventory will be marked down 30%… but all my newsletter peeps can get an extra 10% off with this coupon code! THIMBLEFULPEEPS
Pixie Faire will be carrying many of the items from my shop, I will keep you posted as they become available there!
New Pattern Sizes
I am currently in the process of sizing my Prairie Dress series to fit Wellie Wishers and Little Darlings dolls. While doing so, I found that by adding 1/2-inch to the length of the sleeves and skirt, the dresses I sized for Little Darlings fit my Heart 4 Heart doll almost perfectly! The Country Girl dress is being tested right now and should be available in the next week or so. Prairie Rose and Town Girl are next in line and I hope to have them ready sometime next month.
Upcoming Patterns
We have a new Keepers Dolly Duds pattern on the Drawing board! Plaids and fall go together like chocolate chip cookies and milk. This is going to be a fun project and I hope to have it ready for you in the next few weeks.
I have just begun work on a brand new Elizabethan Era pattern series. As I research different garments and their construction, I have to say I am becoming increasingly fascinated. Renaissance dress was all about layers and each layer added a little something to an interesting look Hmmm…. will be be able to pull off Past and Present versions of these designs?
Congratulations to …
Gloria for winning the random drawing for the Prairie Rose Sewing kit, and to Beth, Beth, Linda, Diane, and Rebecca for winning the cameo button packages! Thanks for your comments and input on which notions you would like Pixie Faire to continue carrying for us!
These are all wonderful – so happy to read your news about the patterns, and Freebie Friday!

Will you be including an underthings pattern in your Elizabethan line? Spanish and French farthingales seem so necessary for the shape, even in doll size. And thanks for the free pattern on Friday!

First, happy birthday!! Thank you so much for the upcoming free pattern, so very nice of you! I just bought the magazine last weekend and am so excited to be getting the pattern for the project. And wow, I can hardly wait for the new plaid pattern, so lovely!
i am so excited about the coming Elizabethan pattern series. I enjoy working with your well written patterns. You really challenge my imagination when I sew your designs. It takes me a long time to choose a perfect fabric and the the trims. Now if I can just convince hubby that clean clothes and food aren’t necessary, I can complete all the patterns I have purchased. Thank you for your “Freebie Friday” gift, I am anxious to see the revisions.
I love the Pelisse and Regency dress pattern, have made it many times in the past few years
I am very happy that your Jane Austen Regency pattern is featured in Piecework. I was really happy when I bought it tonight at the book store. I belong to a Sherlock Holmes Society and Nancy Drew Sleuths. I have a large collection of first edition, first printing and many signed mystery books. Besides getting the wonderful embroidery design for your Regency Dress, the magazine was dedicated to piecework in Mystery Books. Many of my favorite authors were featured including a wonderful article about Ngaio Marsh, my favorite from the Golden Age.
Happy Birthday, Shari! I hope you have a wonderful day. We share the same birthday!
Thank you for offering the new release of the Open Pelisse and Regency gown. I love sewing your patterns.
