New Pattern From Thimbles and Acorns
The first pattern from our Renaissance Series is now available in the 18-inch doll size! This pattern will be available in two sizes, 18-inch American Girl and 16-inch A Girl for All Time, and will include both a 16th century and a Present variation. There are several patterns slated for this series that will make up another Designables collection ~ so you will be able to swap out different parts to create your very own design!
The kirtle and smock were key components of the Renaissance wardrobe as they could be worn alone as a day dress or as a foundation garment underneath a formal gown. The Renaissance Faire Side Laced Kirtle includes a square necked smock with optional blackwork embroidery at the neckline and cuffs. It fastens with the back with a single snap or button closure and is finished with a subtle asymmetrical hem. The Kirtle laces up each side with three sets of eyelets and fastens at the shoulders with two sets of eyelets. The two piece detachable sleeves allow the full smock sleeves to spill out at the shoulders and elbows in classic style and the traditional coif rests securely on the back of the head to complete the historic Renaissance look. As an added bonus, make a spunky present day version. The smock features elbow length sleeves and a slit asymetrical hemline that is topped with a kirtle that has been updated with a two-piece A-line asymmetrical skirt. Next up, a formal gown to wear over the kirtle… keep watching!

Can’t wait for the Renaissance pattern and set
I’m very much looking forward to your upcoming sale. I adore your patterns and have almost every one for 18″ dolls already, except for the most recent two. They are all fantastic and very user friendly. I especially enjoy that they are period fashions so kids learn how fashion has evolved and keeps changing over time. I also find them inspirational personally; because I design costumes for theater productions. Your patterns help me to see great tricks for dressing actors quickly and yet apparently authentically for quick costume changes. (Don’t worry. I would never steal your designs. They do, however, inspire me greatly.) Your calendar is a great idea. I could look at your designs all day long. They make my fingers and mind feel “itchy” to get sewing myself. I sure would love to win the contest, like everyone else, I’m certain. It’s always fun to dream. Thanks for participating in the upcoming sale days. They are the only time of the year that I can afford to purchase your delightful designs. God bless, and happy holidays!
Happy Holidays to Thimbles and Acorns, and Keepers Dolly Duds! Thank you all for a another great year of designs! It is truly appreciated!
Thank you so much for sharing your creativity with us. I love to sew, but need an actual pattern to follow. I appreciate the detailed explanation in the instructions. Again, thank you for sharing your beautiful designs with us!. ✂, ?
I’m so excited about your new Rennaissance Faire pattern and the various Black Friday pattern sales that I feel like a kid opening Christmas presents!
I like the look of that new Renaissance dress.m I haven’t had much success with eyelets in the past – guess I need more practice. So glad you are doing a modern companion look with these historical outfits because it opens up a whole new realm of possibilities!
Very nice calendar
I’d love to win a calendar! Also the new pattern is absolutely gorgeous–I can’t wait to try it, for both my American Girls and my Girl for All Time dolls.
Would love to be inspired every day with a Keepers Dolly Duds 2017 calendar for my workroom! Many thanks for all you do!
I love this new pattern of yours and will add it soon to my pattern collection (in hope to find time to sew it… I have so many projects on my table and so little time to accomplish any!). I love all the little details… and I am looking forward to your other patterns!
I took advantage of your clearance sale: thank you for the extra discount!

Beautiful new design, and I’m looking forward to the sale – thanks!! Happy Holidays!!
Glad to see a “today” version of Renaissance Faire. The calendar is “cute as a bugs ear” (old family saying). I need a larger version for my wall calendar. Great work folks!
