- 1 cup evaporated milk
- 1 cup sugar
- 3 egg yolks, beaten
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1-1/3 cups flaked coconut
- 1 cup chopped roasted pecans (optional)
- In a small saucepan, mix milk and sugar together.
- Add beaten egg yolks and vanilla.
- Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly with a wire whisk. Boil for two minutes. Remove from heat and stir in coconut and pecans if desired.
- Spread over cake while the frosting is still warm.
