Wrap-Front Regency Dress

EASY

By Thimbles and Acorns

Available in four sizes designed to fit American Girl®, Kidz n Cats®, Götz®, A Girl for All Time®, and Other Similarly Sized Dolls

Popular early in the Regency period, the wrap-front style was extremely versatile and was used for everyday wear as well as formal occasions. This PDF pattern includes instructions for a wrap-front dress, wrap-front overdress, wrap-front shortgown, and underdress. All variations can be made with or without the sleeves. Special features include bias-cut sleeves that can be cut to a standard length or extra long, for a decorative bunching effect. Tied or buttoned wristbands hold the extra long sleeves in place, and decorative tiebacks can be used to give the neckline more shape. As an added bonus, the sleeves from Thimbles and Acorns patterns labeled with a letter “D” beneath the pattern number can be used interchangeably, making the design possibilities endless.
